Are you looking for a holiday cottage to escape your busy lives and yearn to go somewhere where the pace is slower, and you can enjoy time together without distractions?
Living in the town doesn’t mean all hope is lost for any more sun-soaked summers blackberry picking, cold winters in by the log fire and family weekends surrounded by good food and reminiscing. Even if you are settled and loving life in the city, you can have the best of both worlds and come back to the countryside to reconnect and enjoy simple pleasures again. Something that is hard to do in the fast-paced world of the city. About the ownersWe are Andrew and Laura. We are the third generation to own Sweffling Hall. We left our jobs in 2007 and moved to Suffolk to get back to rural life and to make it our new family home. By 2009 we had converted the cart shed in to two self-catering holiday cottages to run alongside the working farm.

We both grew up in the countryside - it left us with fond memories and we were fortunate to have idyllic childhoods. After a few years working the jobs we dreamed of in the big world, coming home is something we really started to appreciate.
We wanted to create a holiday where guests could get away from city life and come to relax with family or friends surrounded by nature. Not just for rural living but to be surrounded by our beautiful British landscape on a working farm in a cosy cottage for a long chilled out weekends just like the good old days.

More than just a holiday cottage...
There is more to the converted barns than just amazing views and a country escape. We are developing our ‘conversations with nature’ activities on site which lets visitors get outside and play. These courses are balanced between taking part in a really cool interesting activity, without effecting the peaceful moments of other guests on site or in your party. On booking, an email will be sent out with the various contacts for these activities. So far, this year we are hosting beach combing lessons, astronomy tours of the night sky, prehistoric crafts, archery lessons and bush craft sessions. All booked direct with super passionate instructors who are beyond expert in their subject.
Our blog also gives you other ideas of what you can do whilst you stay with us. The farm is in the rural belt of the Suffolk coastal area, so we cover ideas for those days you want to enjoy a countryside holiday and the days you want to visit the beach (we have 12 in Suffolk! All a little bit different to the next). We are surrounded by countryside walks but non better than the walk to our amazing CAMRA award winning village pub. ‘The Sweffling White Horse’ which serves locally sourced real ale from their tap room and you are made to feel at home whether you are a local or just here for a weekend away in the country.
